Torrevento is located at the foot of Castel del Monte, a mysterious castle that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. The castle stands alone and imposing on the highest hill of Murgia at 540 m asl. It is a territory where the inseparable relationship between man and environment dominates, in a perfect fusion of tradition, human activity, and nature. The winery pursues a development plan that has always been based on research, sustainability, and quality.

Grape variety: Primitivo, Nero di Troia

Vinification: The vines come from the Murga plateau with calcareous soils. Due to the climatic conditions, the grapes can dry out directly on the vine. This concentrates the aromas and also the sugar content in the berry. This traditional method is called Appassimento. After fermentation, aging and maturation takes place in equal parts in stainless steel, as well as in large wooden barrels.

Tasting notes: deep ruby red colour with purple glints when young, garnet with ageing. Intense, full, fragrant and spicy bouquet. In the mouth balanced, full-bodied, enwrapping, with slight sweet notes.

Food pairing: perfect to match red meat, roast, game. Excellent with mature cheese and salami.

Alcohol content: 14%. vol.

Serving temperature: 16-18°C

Awards: James Suckling 91/100
