Matías Riccitelli's Old Vines from Patagonia Semillón is a remarkable white wine that showcases the unique characteristics of Argentina's Patagonia region. Made from Semillón grapes harvested from old, ungrafted vineyards planted in the late 1960s, this wine reflects the rich viticultural heritage of the area. The grapes are sourced from vineyards located in Luis Beltrán, Río Negro, where the vines thrive on loamy soils.Riccitelli employs agroecological practices, avoiding the use of herbicides and systemic products to maintain the natural balance of the ecosystem.

Vinification: The winemaking process involves fermenting the grapes on their skins with indigenous yeasts in clay amphorae at temperatures between 16°C and 18°C over several weeks. The wine is then aged in these amphorae for eight months, allowing it to develop complexity and depth.

Tasting Notes: This Semillón exhibits a vibrant profile with notes of citrus fruits, white flowers, and subtle mineral undertones. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance of freshness and texture, leading to a lingering, elegant finish.

Food Pairing: This versatile wine pairs well with a variety of dishes, including seafood, poultry, and creamy cheeses.

Alcohol Content: 13% vol.

Serving Temperature: 12–14°C

Awards: James Suckling 95/100, Tim Atkin 98/100
